Katie Fair Isle Beanie

20/04/2014 · In: Original Patterns

My latest pattern is finally ready to publish.

After a second test knit and some dithering about what to name it I’m pleased to present the Katie Fair Isle Beanie.

You may remember back in November 2013, I asked readers to suggest a name for this pattern and offered a free copy for anyone who submitted an idea.

Even after doing this I couldn’t settle on a name, so I’ve named it after Kate, the first person who suggested a name.

It’s been through two thorough test-knits and is now available on Ravelry. Those who commented in November will receive an email with a code that will allow them to download a free copy.

If you’d like to purchase a copy for AU$6.00, click here add to cart

You will need

Yarn
Any 8ply/DK yarn in the following quantities
1 x 50g / 100m ball of yellow
1 x 50g / 100m ball of green
1 or 2* 50g / 100m ball/s of brown (see Note below)

Yarn used here is Morris and Sons “Morris Estate 8ply”

Brown beanie uses #8036 Egg Yolk, #8007 Chocolate and #8047 Fishing Green.
White beanie uses #8018 Posey, #8002 Voile and #8045 Canopy.
*Note: after knitting this beanie I had about two metres of the brown yarn left over. If you make a swatch or are a loose knitter, you will need to purchase a second ball of the brown so you don’t run out.

Needles and Extras
A set of 3.75mm double pointed needles
A 3.75mm circular needle with a length of 40cm
A tapestry needle for sewing in ends
Stitch marker
