Hazel

22/09/2011 · In: My knitting, Original Patterns

I finished my lovely orange shawl and have been racking my brain about what to call it. I still have to type up the pattern, but it should have a name. I decided on “Hazel” because the fall of the lace pattern reminds me of catkins.

It’s probably a bit hard to see any resemblance to a tree or plant at the moment because the amazing orange yarn is so distracting. I’ll have to knit one up in a solid or semi-solid dyed yarn. Time to break out the alpaca laceweight!

My orange Hazel shawl is now at Morris and Sons ready to go on display. I only got to wear it for one day before handing it over. Oh well, I’ll get it back in a few months and it will be a good advertisement for my “Design Your Own Shawl” course. I’ll have dates and more info about this soon.
