Granny Power

10/10/2011 · In: Crochet

I’ve being doing all my colourfast testing on the hand dyed yarns this week. It all looks good and the colours aren’t running at all.

One of the yarns I dyed was a wool, soy and cashmere blend. The colours came up beautifully but unfortunately each skein had at least one knot or join. It’s a beautiful yarn but I wont be buying it again.

So – what to do with ten skeins of lovely yarn in very girly shades of pink? You crochet a heap of granny squares of course (modelled here by the lovely Geoff).

Its just a big old stack of squares right now and I still have to sew in all those evil yarn ends, but I’m pretty happy I made 36 squares in a few days.  I’ll finish it up in the next few days. My first real crochet project.
