Cosy Koalas

04/04/2015 · In: Home and Away, Original Patterns, Vintage patterns

It was fifteen months ago that I first posted about a 1936 pattern for a koala tea cosy.

Although he looks nothing like the picture on the pattern, he turned out quite well. I decided to make him a little branch of flowering gum to hold onto and stitch it to his paws. This brightened up his grey colouring and also gave him some stability.

Still I’m very happy with him and he sits happily on a shelf in the kitchen of our new house. It nice to finally have enough room to display him.
