Must-Knit Number One Finished

24/02/2011 · In: My knitting

I finished the tea cosy for Lorraine’s retirement present and she loved it.

It was really nice to give a knitted gift to someone who helped me with my knitting skills. Lorraine is one of those women who has been knitting for over fifty years and she had a lot to share.

Unfortunately I didn’t get great pictures. The new camera is still about two months away budget-wise so I’ll just have to be satisfied with having the blog with the worst pictures ever. Oh well.

It’s the Camomile Lawn tea cosy. If you want the pattern just select it from the Patterns links on the right. I did change the flowers on this on to basic five petal daisies and I think it turned out well. Given more time I’d have added more flowers but I just left things too late.

    Hi Jen,

Thanks for sharing the pattern for the Camomile Lawn Cosy! I'm half way through knitting my first one for my friend's housewarming present but I love the flowers on this version. 🙂

Did you follow a pattern for the daisies? Or is it just something you knew how to do? I've never knitted flowers before so looking for something basic to follow.

    Thanks again!
    Pam

    Hi Pam,

Thanks for your comments. I'll put the pattern for the flowers in my next post later this afternoon.

[…] Lorraine, I decided to go for a simpler flower than the camomile flowers on the original. They looked great (apologies for the poor quality photos) and were a nice way to vary the pattern a little and keep […]
